System 162

One Design – three different Materials

The system in the building

Cut a round tube and join it back together again at right-angles with a mitre joint: This was the idea of the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens (1886 -1945), whose lever handle is nowadays known of as the "Frankfurt Model".

HEWI has derived a whole system on the basis of this simple but clever design: Products with coordinated shapes ensure consistent, systematic design in the building's hardware, signage systems, handrails and electronic locking systems – and now, as a new addition, in its sanitary fittings too.

And not only that: available in three materials: polyamide, aluminium and stainless steel, the system idea of "one shape – three materials" is continued for comprehensive door and window fittings. In addition, the fittings and signage systems of System 162 are visually compatible with project-specific switch ranges.
