HEWI materials

Overview

Synthetic material (plastic)

At HEWI, dyed through high quality synthetic material is processed with great care. Furthermore, many products are strengthened with a steel core which contrasts the quality HEWI products dramatically from its imitations. The plastics used at HEWI are fade resistant, hygienic, stable to chemicals, have very good thermal properties and a high life-expectancy.

A variety of colour schemes are an important part of professional building and room planning. With the HEWI colours which blend with each other, HEWI offer many possibilities for the creation of modern working and living rooms.

Glass

Synthetic materials in combination with different kinds of glass are creative, and offer an alternative approach in the HEWI sanitary ranges:

Three elegant soft colours and two crystal clear vibrant shades can be obtained from the sanitary range 477, which can integrate into many room schemes and blend with the colours in the bathroom beautifully.

Stainless steel

We only use the chrome-nickel steel 1.4301 according to DIN EN 10 088 for our high-quality stainless steel products. This material has a chrome content from 17,0 to 19,5 % and a nickel content from 8 to 10,5 %. The material used by us has proved to be the most suitable within building hardware. The material stainless steel is especially corrosion-resistant, flat in its surface structure and free of pores.
The HEWI building hardware range can be obtained in three different surface finishes, polished, textured and matt.

Aluminium

HEWI uses the material aluminium in an innovative compound link with stainless steel. The base material of our hardware consists of stainless steel (material number 1.4301). In contrast, is the aluminium handle (1/5 stainless steel and 4/5 aluminium), which can be obtained in three different surfaces (Lightgrey and Darkgrey). The colour Slategrey is surface deposited with colour pigments. If left in direct UV-rays, changes in colours may occur.

The door lever furniture in the range180 is unique because of it´s compound of stainless steel and aluminium. This combination guarantees a high reliability with an equally high functionality.

Wood

ENTRO balustrade and handrail systems feature the exclusive usage of steamed, stove-dried, A-grade timber, excluding the soft core. Beech, ash, maple and oak options are available as well as other timber types on demand - they all have standard flammability characteristics in compliance with DIN 4102/Building Materials Class B2. The surface finish is generally sanded twice and given two coats of clear, protective varnish. The proven connecting system (screw- or adhesive-type) guarantees stable, visually perfect connections between the bars and the supports. The materials used resist abrasion, impact and vibration. Standard detergents clean the fine-grained surfaces without any difficulty.

Textile

HEWI shower curtains are made of easy-care, antistatic synthetic material (100% Polyester). They are protected against moulds and mildew and can be treated antiseptically. The curtains are produced according to your measurements and are available in 7 different patterns, washable at 30°C and disinfectable at 60°C.
