German Innovation Award 2024
for HEWI S 900 Q

The sanitary accessories of our HEWI S 900 Q design variant were recently honored with the “German Innovation Award 2024 – Special Mention” in the category “Excellence in Business to Business: Building & Elements”. 

S 900 Q – Delicate, light and straight-lined 

The design variant S 900 Q from HEWI features a square style that creates timeless accents. The clear lines help showcase the products. The straight lines of the accessories are underlined by the variety of materials and colors in stainless steel and chrome as well as powder-coated in white, black, and gray. Round inserts made of satin-finished crystal glass create exciting contrasts. With their modern design, the accessories are suitable for use in different types of buildings. Thanks to the system concept, S 900 Q can be combined with all HEWI solutions and enables consistent design.

 

The competition that makes innovations visible 

The German Innovation Award  is presented by the German Design Council. It recognizes cross-sector products, solutions, and services that sustainably improve life through innovation and progress. The German Innovation Award provides these innovative solutions with a platform and shows where innovations can take us: “Because positive changes that influence and enrich the lives of a wide range of target groups have always been brought about by innovations.”

The jury for the German Innovation Awards is made up of experts from industry, digitalization, science, and institutions. Submissions are evaluated based on three criteria: degree of innovation, benefit to users, and economic viability. The contestants were asked to present innovation strategies that incorporated social, ecological, economic sustainability and which took energy and resource requirements into consideration.

German Design Council 

Since 1953, the German Design Council has been the world’s leading communications and knowledge transfer competency center focused on design, branding, and innovation.  It is Germany’s design and brand authority, which has set itself the task of strengthening awareness of design and supporting companies in all aspects of their brand and design development.

With international offers, promotion of young talent, and memberships, it is part of the global design community and has always contributed to establishing exchange and networks worldwide and supporting the competitiveness of companies through design. The German Design Council sponsors a wide range of events, conferences, competitions, jury panels, and expert circles in order to promote links between its members and other international design and brand experts, advance the discourse, and provide an important impetus to the global economy. The Council’s membership currently includes more than 350 companies.
